For Shutter Sisters' Love Thursday....
I've been sorting through pictures this week, and I came across this one. It was taken of my cousin sometime in the late '90's on a trolley car in San Francisco, and it brought back about a hundred good memories...of two teenagers who thought San Francisco was the greatest city ever...of plans to move there "for college"...but really just so we could hang out and people watch every day...and drive a VW bus!
Sigh. And now she's a mommy to three, and I'm, well, me--certainly too grown-up to act on leftover hippie-city-by-the-bay fantasies. (And all too aware of the reality that we'd have been lucky to have been able to afford a closet to live in there.)
But, honestly, even though it didn't quite work out, I love that we dreamed it.
